Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, the Governor of Benue State, has expressed his gratitude to the workers in the state for their contributions to governance and development, characterising them as essential to the state’s ongoing transformation.
The governor stated in a press release issued on Friday to commemorate the annual Workers’ Day that the event offers a chance to honour the dedication and significance of workers in both the state and the nation.
He observed that Benue workers have made substantial contributions to progress in critical sectors, which is consistent with his administration’s seven-point development agenda, SACHIIP.
The framework emphasises the following areas: security, agriculture and rural development, commerce and industry, human capital development, infrastructure, ICT, and governance.
The governor referred to workers as “important stakeholders” in the implementation of policies that are designed to enhance the quality of life for citizens and reposition the state for development, as stated in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula.
Gov. Alia underscored that his administration continues to prioritise the welfare of workers, asserting that enhanced welfare conditions are indispensable for enhanced productivity and performance.
He confirmed that the government will persist in the implementation of policies that are designed to improve the overall well-being and capacity of workers.
He also commended the labour unions in the state for their cooperation and support, observing that their involvement has facilitated increased productivity and stability in the workforce.
The governor encouraged workers throughout the state to continue their contributions to the advancement of Benue, extending his warmest regards.
