A new district called Waru-Pozema will soon be part of IInfrastructure, according to Wike’s announcement

In order to facilitate the relocation of inhabitants and developers to the newly established Waru-Pozema District, the FCT Administration would supply the essential infrastructure, according to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

This was mentioned by Wike on Thursday during a press conference following an inspection of various ongoing projects in the Federal Capital Territory.

He went on to say that the district is in Cadastral Zone D16 and that the administration would investigate the possibilities of providing basic infrastructure in collaboration with the appropriate agencies.

He said that in order to figure out what’s next, including whether or not the project is included in the 2026 budget, the FCT Administration would talk to the Federal Capital Development Authority and other pertinent ministries.

“Regarding the new Waru-Pozema district in Cadastral Zone D16, we need to enquire with the FCDA or coordinator about their plans, and I’m not sure if it will be included in the 2026 budget,” he stated. Rest assured, we are fully committed to ensuring that the necessary infrastructure is provided and that the district is opened up for residents to live into.

While on the tour, the minister was pleased with the progress made on a number of judicial infrastructure projects.

According to what Wike heard, the contractors working on the Court of Appeal complex guaranteed a May completion date. He went on to say that the quarters for the judges, including the section for the Federal High Court, had already been provided.

During the third anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s in office, the facilities would be opened, according to Wike. The project includes ten duplexes for the Federal High Court, twenty for the FCT High Court, and ten more for the Court of Appeal.

Minister also praised contractor for speed and quality of work during inspection of massive Katampe road project, which he likened to a ring road.

He singled out China Geo-Engineering Corporation, a construction firm, as an example of a reliable business whose promises could be relied upon.

He went on to say, “It’s one of those companies—when they give you their word, you can go to the bank with it.”

Through Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda, the Acting ES, the Minister expresses his pleasure with the level of oversight by FCDA authorities.

Wike stated that his dedication to routinely reviewing projects is fuelled by his desire to serve and the trust bestowed upon him by President Tinubu.

He told them, “You have no choice but to be committed to the job” if they wanted the president to trust them and assign them a task.

Speaking on politics at the national level, the minister emphasised the need of unity inside the Peoples Democratic Party, stating that party reunification should take precedence over ideas for future electoral plans.

He was hopeful that the party could stay competitive if its members continued to be genuine in their attempts at reconciliation and mentioned that the party’s upcoming convention was the present emphasis.
