Dino Melaye: “No battalion can stop the ADC convention

Citing a legitimate contract and full payment for the venue, Dino Melaye, a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) convention planning committee, has maintained that no force can stop the party from conducting its convention.

According to 460PLAY, the ADC convention, which was set for Tuesday, was supposedly in jeopardy since the party was being refused a location.

Melaye stated on Tuesday’s Arise Television Morning Show that steps were made to halt the event, including closing the venue gates and requesting that the organisers leave the area.

However, he said that the committee opposed the action, arguing that they had a properly signed contract with the facility’s owners and had paid all of their debts.

Melaye also expressed confidence in ADC’s expanding power and stated that the party was dedicated to opposing the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC.

“I have that information as a member of the planning committee and the chairman of the protocol committee, and not only were we asked to leave yesterday, they wanted to shut the gates, but we insisted and said we are not going to leave because we have a contract duly signed with this place and we have paid fully,” he stated.

“We have payment receipts. We have contracts that are properly signed. The fact that we are here at the end of the day and that our convention is being held here is what matters most.

“No one is going to stop us. No battalion would have forced us to leave this location today if there had been a legal contract with the property’s owners, payment, and receipts. Consequently, the convention will take place. The exercise will continue. We are expelling APC, and ADC is firmly established.
