Nigerian comedian and actor Ijoba Lande has accused Lagos police officers of assault and theft

He claims that officers from the Lagos State Police Command’s Area “J” Division have assaulted him, taken away his cell phone, and stolen money that is purportedly his brother’s.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, the performer is seen with obvious facial injuries, including bloodstains near his eyes, while bystanders try to help him by dousing his face in water.

Scenes from what is thought to be a police facility are also shown in the video, where Ijoba Lande was seen reporting the incident following the alleged attack.

Speaking about the incident, the creator of the sketch stated that it happened only six days after he returned to Nigeria from the UK.

He did not, however, elaborate on the precise setting or circumstances leading up to the altercation with the police.

According to Ijoba Lande, the officers took his iPhone 16 Pro Max, physically abused him, and stole $1,200 in cash from his brother.

As he looks for justice for the alleged misbehaviour, the well-known content creator—who is well-known for his comedic routines and parts in Yoruba Nollywood films—said the event has left him scarred.

The complete details surrounding the occurrence are still unknown, and the Lagos State Police Command has not yet provided an official comment as of the time this article was filed.
